My latest Sculpture - "grown" from a Challenge placed by our polymer clay guild - to use a quail's egg *somehow* in a clay creation...yes, there is a quail's egg in there - the larger of the rocks surrounding the log!   Other than the egg and a piece of a cardboard tube, the entire sculpture is made of polymer clay.

New Shows For 2008 !!!!

Welcome to my little corner of the ‘web.  I am an artist-in-limbo,

never quite certain where my muse might take me.

She is a fickle creature, flitting from one idea to the next –

frustrating me on occasion, but never dull !

As you might see whilst perusing this

humble, electronic abode,

there are many different styles, techniques and

color combinations used.  I tend to favor purples and teals,

but will play with any color combo that catches my eye or seems to sing to me.

Just what is Polymer Clay?  A malleable, pliant polymer plastic

substance that can be manipulated much like mineral based clay.  But ,

in addition to coming in an incredible palette of colors, it is “fired” at a

much lower temperature, thereby eliminating the need for a special kiln

and allowing the artist to use a common kitchen oven to ‘set’ the clay.

The unbaked clay can be molded, stamped, colored, mixed with a

variety of inclusions, rolled to incredibly thin layer, used to cover a myriad of objects, mixed to imitate a variety of minerals, gems and semi-

precious stones – the list goes on!  The baked clay can be carved, drilled,

painted, stained, and sanded.  This substance is limited only by one’s

imagination!

I enjoy reading and "collecting" quotations, and using them on different clay creations.

The colors you see in the items is actually within the clay itself - amazing stuff, that polymer clay!

light bit of mica ink.

The jewel-like tones add such a richness!

All I have seen teaches me to trust

the creator for all I have not seen.
