about the artist

My artistic search through the years has ranged from sketching pencils, charcoal, pastels, oils and acrylic paints - all in vain.  I could never seem to bring the vision in my mind's eye to the paper/canvas.  Two-dimensional depictions weren't working for me.  As life took over - marriage, kids - my creative mojo was put on the back burner.  About five years ago, I bought this cool, colorful clay called Sculpey III - bought it for my kids...but you can see who really took to it!  I loved the colors, the ease of creating, the FUN of it!
From there, I began to buy books, cruise the web, attend classes, upgraded to Premo, a professional grade of polymer clay - and began attending craft shows, to peddle my wares.  Edit

The row of pictures below are examples of one of my favorite pastimes, gardening.  Having gardened for better than twenty years, especially favoring work with my vegetable garden and my herbs,  I have truly enjoyed all aspects of the hobby, not only of getting dirt under my nails, but studying and reading about the usage (culinary and medicinal)

 and the history of herbs.

This is a picture of my front  garden. The airy, purple flower behind the birdbath is a dwarf lilac.

I love sunflowers! They line the west side of my vegetable garden, and the birds appreciate the seeds in late summer.

 Gotta love the stately Iris...

A welcome visitor to the daylilies...

The red firecrackers in the foreground are bee balm, with my favorite vine, clematis, in the background.

Below you see some pictures of the more "animated" objects of my affection -  two boys: 15 years and eleven years old - home-schooled, growing WAY too fast, and great fun to hang with. Also, the two pooches in the other picture are mother & daughter (Bailey, who has passed on, and Ursa Major, her "little girl").  We have enjoyed many critters here on our miniscule homestead (chickens, turkeys, rabbits, even a couple beehives), but now we just have the one dog and one cat (who THINKS she's a dog).

Oh, and my favorite critter of all:

Dominic, my dear, ever-so-patient husband.

Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm & gaiety to life and to everything.
